About MarieI spent two decades in primary schools - 20 years teaching, most recently as a senior leader at an Ofsted-rated 'Outstanding' school in South West London. Along the way I trained as a maths mastery specialist and worked as a Development Lead for Mathematics Mastery, advising schools and leading workshops on how to teach maths so it sticks. Today I also train the next generation of teachers as a Lead Mentor for Roehampton University.Two years ago I left a secure senior leadership role to start Tuition2gether - not because I stopped loving teaching, but because I wanted to do the part I love most. In a class of thirty, the child quietly falling behind, or the one who's bored because they're not being stretched, doesn't always get what they need. One to one, they do.How I teachI use a mastery approach - building deep, secure understanding rather than quick tricks that fall apart under pressure. Think of it like building a house: get the foundations solid and everything above them holds. So my pupils don't just pass the next test — they carry the confidence forward.Most children who struggle aren't 'bad at maths' or 'not readers' - they've just lost belief in themselves somewhere along the way. My job is to turn 'I can't' into 'I can', calmly and without pressure, until they surprise themselves.
